Dating to the late 19th to early 20th century, this remarkable antique kitchen cupboard features a tall step-back form with an exceptionally well-aged hand-painted finish. Roosters and hens decorate the upper and lower cabinet doors, surrounded by scrolling blue and red accents against a warm ochre-yellow ground. The center features a fall-front work surface with additional hand-painted poultry scenes, while the upper and lower cabinets open to reveal generous shelving and rustic plank interiors. Hand-forged-style iron hinges and hardware complement the primitive construction, while layers of wear, fading, and exposed wood give the painted surface extraordinary character. A substantial one-of-a-kind piece that would make an impressive kitchen cupboard, pantry cabinet, bar, or statement storage piece.

Condition: Good antique condition with substantial age-related wear and patina throughout. The painted finish shows extensive fading, flaking, chipping, rubbing, scratches, discoloration, and areas of paint loss, with considerable wear to the hand-painted decoration. The iron hardware shows oxidation and surface patina. Interior shelves, doors, and plank construction show scratches, marks, age separations, small gaps, and other wear consistent with prolonged use. There is also visible separation and damage to the wood near the lower rear/side portion of the cabinet, as photographed. The pronounced wear and distressed surface are an important part of the cupboard's antique character.
