Dating to the 19th century, this striking set of four Renaissance Revival dining chairs features exceptionally ornate carved walnut frames with tall, architectural backs. Each chair is richly detailed with pierced foliate carving, scrolling motifs, floral rosettes, turned uprights, finial-topped posts, and elaborately carved crest rails. Decorative carved stretchers continue the design below the seats, giving the chairs an impressive presence from every angle. The seats are upholstered in an aged olive green velvet and finished with decorative nailhead trim, providing a rich contrast against the warm, deeply patinated walnut. Influenced by earlier Jacobean and Carolean furniture, these dramatic high-back chairs embody the elaborate craftsmanship and historic revival styles popular during the 19th century.

Condition: Good antique condition with wear consistent with age and previous use. The walnut frames display an aged patina with scattered scratches, scuffs, finish wear, small marks, and variations in color throughout. The carved details show minor age-related wear and imperfections. The olive green velvet upholstery shows visible surface wear and varies between the seats; however, the seat cushions remain in good usable condition.
