Vintage German Mid-Century Modern Highboard Cabinet

A beautifully preserved example of German Mid-Century Modern design, this 1950s–1960s highboard showcases a striking interplay of warm wood tones and clean, sculptural lines. The exterior features richly striped walnut-tone panels contrasted with lighter oak fronts, all framed within a gently curved case set on tapered legs. The layout offers thoughtful, highly functional storage: the left door opens to reveal a tall cabinet fitted with multiple adjustable shelves, while the right door conceals a lower storage compartment with an additional interior shelf. At center, three felt-lined drawers provide refined enclosed storage. Above them, a sliding wood door moves to the side to reveal a glass-front display area featuring glass shelves and a mirrored back, accented by its original red panel and mid-century stemware racks. The combination of mixed woods, mirrored interior, and distinctive German hardware reflects the fresh, streamlined aesthetic of post-war European design—making this a standout cabinet both visually and functionally.

Condition: Overall good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear throughout. Finish shows light surface scratches and small nicks consistent with use, including chips on the bottom left and right inside corners. Glass is intact with no cracks; the sliding doors operate smoothly but there is minor rubbing and finish wear on the inside middle where the glass slides into place. Interior shelves and felt-lined drawers are clean with some subtle discoloration and faint marks from prior use. Cabinet is sturdy and functional.
