This pair of vintage French woven wall tapestries dates to the late 20th century, produced in the 1970s or 1980s by Les Tapisseries d’Halluin. The tapestries depict two beloved Rococo scenes, “L’Indiscrétion” and “L’Escarpolette,” inspired by romantic garden imagery of the early eighteenth century and famously associated with the work of Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Richly detailed and beautifully composed, each tapestry features lively pastoral scenes with elegantly dressed figures set among lush trees, florals, and architectural garden elements, all framed by an ornate decorative border. Woven in France and bearing the Point Genre Gobelins label, these tapestries reflect the long tradition of French tapestry craftsmanship produced in the Flanders region.
